Dinner with Friends

10 Apr

At a restaurant, at home, or at church, dining with friends is a delight.

It’s not about the quality of the food, the ambiance in the restaurant, or the talent of the server.

It’s about the conversation, the sharing back and forth, and really listening to one another.

It’s not about who pays the bill, the prices on the menu, or who made the meal.

It’s about quality time over a common event with a phenomenal person.

Be it book group, a church potluck, a birthday outing to celebrate cousins, dining over our scrapbook projects, a gathering after work to let loose, a holiday meal shared in the living room with paper plates on our laps, or the delicate taste of my burned grilled cheese and lumpy tomato soup with my brother, dining with people I care for is the highlight of any day.
