14th Day of Lent

Word of the Day: Lift

Pysanky is an old Russian/Ukrainian/Polish tradition.
It involves using beeswax as a marker and then laying various dyes to make designs.
Once the beeswax is lifted off with heat, only beauty remains (at least I hope so!).

8th Day of Lent

Word of the Day: Evil

Bob Medema, the owner of the Emporium, was murdered last August.

He was a friend of my father’s and was dear to our hearts. I loved to see them talk animatedly with one another, joking, sharing their identical political views, and laughing. Both men are gone from this earth to a better place. Where my dad passed away from an illness fairly quickly, Bob’s life was stolen by thieves seeking money. There’s another evil, in addition to murder, money. Bob’s life was more valuable than any money those thieves could have gained.

7th Day of Lent

Word of the Day: Wonder

On my first day of biology in High School, the teacher said he could teach us many things, but he couldn’t teach us how the human being stands on two feet. If we believed in God, we had our answer. If not, there is no answer.

Since then, I often wonder of His many creations. Humans and birds waddling around on merely two feet, birds with feathers, cats with hair, and moose who hold their heads up with those giant antlers. God is a Wonder and Delight to me.
