Blue Skys

I recently saw again the movie Pleasantville. I don’t believe I’ve seen it since it was in the theater.

I know the movie is really about the reason why we need change. I understand the need for change, but I don’t feel that change in and of itself means it’s always good or moving forward.

For me though, this time through, although I have a deeper understanding of the movie, it is hitting on a baser need for me. That would be routine.

Routine is how I tell the days a part, the weekends from the weekdays, and the holidays from the weekends. I need routine to know what to do next and when. I need to be on a schedule where everything has a place and everything is in it’s place.

And yet, in this movie, when change happens, the colors appear. No more black, white, and gray. Life is full of reds, pinks, peaches, yellows, blues, greens, and golds.

So sometimes, when I lose my routine, perhaps it’s for the better. Perhaps there’s a more beautiful night sky, or a more colorful autumn tree, or even more shades of green and gold in a cat’s eye.

If I’m off my rocker and staring at the lovely sky, perhaps my routine has been altered and I’m seeing new shades of blue.

A blue sky, with a couple of clouds, a dark green tree line, and three birds flying in the air.

Do You Dream in Color?

Do you dream in color?
I do! Usually fabrics, yarn, and scrapbook papers.

Do you dream in texture?
I do! Usually clean cottons, Angora fur, and mulberry paper.

Do you dream in sound?
I do! The click of corner rounders, the clink of crochet hooks, and the chink of pottery on the table.

Do you dream with scents?
I do! Clean cottons, fresh cut paper, and ink from pens.

Moral of the Story: Dream of what you enjoy, be it at night or in the day.

What Happens in Vegas (06 part 1 of 2)

When I was in Vegas in 2010 for work, the colleague I toured the town with at night said I had to get to the Bellagio to see the annual Chihuly exhibit first. I’d seen bits and pieces of this hotel in movies, so I was plenty curious to check it out. It was a festive sight! So much glass! This is the usual display (so I’m told) in the Bellagio lobby. Tomorrow I’ll share their special exhibit.

Moral of the Story: Don’t show all of your cards at once!

Color

Sometimes some colors shine more brightly than other colors.

Sometimes other colors are glad to enhance some of their friends in the rainbow.

Morale of the Story: Color is an amazing gift of nature.

Pretty Me!

Merry Tail NAMEOh, my divine tail!

It is perfect in
every way.

It smells just great.

It has all of
prettiest colors.

It is so soft and silky.

It is long and lean.

It is mine all mine!

Merry Feet NAME

Then there’s my feet.

Can you see my gorgeous feet?

My toenails are so sharp.

My pads are clean and shiny.

There are colors to
tantalize your eyes.

I can use them to stalk around
the house like a panther.

Each toe is elegant.

I can even hold my pinky toe out
as if I were having tea.

I am so pretty!

Morale of the Story: Self esteem? She’s got  it!

Autumn Smells the Best

Small Autumn

Small Autumn 2

Small Autumn 3Oh, Autumn,

how I adore thee.

The scents are

the most divine.

The bold reds,

golden yellow,

and spicy pumpkin

shades all around.

Freshly slain grass,

and

dying leaves.

Oh, Autumn,

how I adore thee.
