These lovely bottles appear to contain candy. But that’s not the case, so far as I can tell by the labels.
These were on display at Brooke Lodge in Augusta, Michigan. I’m not sure if they are still there, because last I knew, the gorgeous place closed.
These are medications from yester year with Upjohn pharmaceuticals. Some names are Sodium Chloride, Cathartic Vegetable, Phenobarbital, Acetylsalicylic Acid, Ferrated Liver Concentrate, and, lastly, Iron, Strychnine, Arsenic, and Mercury compound.
Some are still used today. Some are no longer recommended to healthy living. Some have little if any impact. What do we use today that will work tomorrow, be ineffective on a regular basis, or lead to our demise?
(PS: No accounting for spelling even though I tried to enlarge the names on the bottles to read them.)
