7th Day of Lent

Word of the Day: Wonder

On my first day of biology in High School, the teacher said he could teach us many things, but he couldn’t teach us how the human being stands on two feet. If we believed in God, we had our answer. If not, there is no answer.

Since then, I often wonder of His many creations. Humans and birds waddling around on merely two feet, birds with feathers, cats with hair, and moose who hold their heads up with those giant antlers. God is a Wonder and Delight to me.

5th Day of Lent

Word of the Day: Settle

How does one settle? What does one settle for in life? Where does one settle?

Some settle into a nap with their grandmother.

4th Day of Lent

Word of the Day: Injustice

What is injustice? Is it a crime? Is it loss? Is it violation of your rights? Is it a violation of the rights of another?

For me, the loss of my niece in a motor cycle accident was an injustice to a young and aspiring life.

2nd Day of Lent

Word of the Day: Returnimage

Returning Home?

Returning to a Well Loved Place?

Returning an item to the Store?

Returning a Friendship?

Returning Love?

Returning Hope?

Returning to What?

Sometimes I stray from Jesus love, and it is time to return to Him.

1st Day of Lent 2013

Ash Wednesday: Got Ashes?Kim - Ash Wednesday

Today is the first day of Lent. In honor of this time in the Christian year, this blog will be for Lent Devotions until Easter Sunday, March 31st. The United Methodist Church has a Lent Photo-a-Day recommendation in honor of Rethinking Church based on keywords.

Today’s word (okay, it’s really a phrase) is “Who am I?”

Who I am is a person continuing on her faith journey. What does faith mean? Am I faithful to God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit? Perhaps I will find out in the next few weeks.

Today I was able to walk over to Bronson Park and receive the blessing of ashes from Pastor Matt. From ashes we have come, and from ashes we shall all return.

I would enjoy hearing if you are also on a journey for Lent and what you’re doing at this time.
