I give thanks for joy! It’s not something we have in every moment, but it is something we can have in every day – even in little bits.
- A walk in the sun (or a run if you’re so inclined)
- A favorite song on the radio
- A call from a treasured friend
- A completed project, that’s been long in process
- A glass of ice-cold water on a hot day
- A cup of hot tea on a winter’s night
- A laugh that’s unexpected and makes you smile all day
- A pull through parking spot near the front door of the store
- A beautiful shade of yellow (a little peachy)
- A cup of butterscotch pudding

I give thanks for being raised on a farm, sometimes in a barn, and sometimes with lots of charm.
It has led to the ability to tell quite the yarn. I hope someday the stories are worth a darn!
No matter, this life was worth more than a darn because of the family, friends, faith, and farm.

I give thanks for a shot in the dark. This photo was a shot in the dark, and it turned out pretty great. Therefore, perhaps I will marry my millionaire soul mate yet! You know, the one who will adore my cats, allow me to scrapbook unconditionally, enjoy reading as much as I do, happily join in my church and faith with me, and pose for pictures whenever I say, “Cheese!”.

I give thanks for a cloudy day. Many people appreciate a sunny day. Sometimes I find sunny days pleasant, but when a migraine is present, there is no joy in the sun shining bright. It adds pain to a painful situation. But a day with a few clouds, putting a pretty buffer between me and the sunshine, is thoroughly appreciated.
Best wishes for the type of day you enjoy today! Just keep the sunshine down a few notches for comfort.

Giving thanks for friends and their pets. Not only do I have heart for furry friends, but most of my friends do as well. Some friends of these friends were born, as I was, with an innate love of the amazing canine and/or feline companions. I not only get to be honored by the presence of my friends, but also their pets who are greatly loved. Although this little guy got in trouble with his mom when I stayed in their home last year. I woke up with him as my blanket. Oops!
All well-loved pets should suck up MORE to company because those are the alternate feeders. Dogs (and particular cats) know that their parents/caregivers will feed them – it’s unconditional. But they also know a good backup plan is invaluable. Just in case something happens to mom and dad, perhaps her friend will take over the multiple meals per day (and many, many snacks).

We give extra thanks for this wee one today. With the power out and my brother staying here adding a nervous dog who paces to the mix, she was very upset. We couldn’t find her today … until this evening. Since the house was near ripped to pieces hunting for her – inside and out – we don’t have a clue where she was hiding. We are celebrating the return of the electricity, but even more so the return of our sweet kitty!
